"As a young boy of nine, I started my first business making prints in my basement from my neighbors' B&W negatives. Later, at WSU, I majored in art, but still kept busy in photography. It wasn't until I had my own studio that I realized - for me - that art and photography are the same profession."
LAURIE GIBBY, wife of Alan Gibby, has been associated with Gibby Studios since 1984. She works in sales, specializing in customer relations.
Laurie's insight and understanding of the photographic profession are extremely valuable in helping our clients make good, knowledgeable, and personalized decisions.
HISTORY OF THE STUDIOS
Following my professional start at age nine, I opened a business as a young man in my apartment in Ogden, Utah. Soon after came my first studio, in the K-mart Plaza on Wall Avenue. Ten years later I purchased the Victorian Mansion in Ogden and enjoyed 40 years of success.
During that time I also constructed a dream studio in Colonial Square in Bountiful, Utah which was sold when I added a studio to our home in Riverdale. This operation continued as a secondary studio to the Victorian Mansion for over 25 years.
In late 2016 the Victorian Mansion was sold as a residence and the entire business was consolidated as one operation in the Riverdale Studio.
